I live few blocks away from Fashion district, seems fancy, right? Well, don’t expect to find trendy boutiques there! From 8th to 5th avenue, between 36th and 39th street, Garment District is a paradise for DIY addicts: clothing and fabric wholesalers, buttons and notions stores… No wonder Parson School of Design and the FIT are located in this area!
Every time I hang out in the area, I discover a new store. Here are some you should not miss:
✂ East Coast Trimming for its nice and helpful owner
✂ Loulou Button for the amazing choice of buttons
✂ JG Merchandise Corp for hats and sequined braids
✂ M&J Trimming to look for ideas from their theme boards (prices are a little higher here)
✂ Mokuba for their cute ribbons
I must say I have a slight preference for B&Q Trim where you will find cute appliques, ribbons, chains, feathers, beads, and all other kind of DIY treasure. Missing some inspiration, check out their blog!
